Based in Akron, Ohio, artist Janet Vorraber has been making art that challenges the viewer to look at situations from a different perspective. Inspired by aboriginal and impressionist painters, her style is a unique brand of painting that shows her individuality. often will paint a figure on top of the shapes, and let the patterns show through. Or more recently she has been working on taking out the portrait all together, depicting the routines of individuals and how they react to specific environments such as work, religion, and the government.Attending school first in Rochester, New York (RIT) and then getting her BFA from University of Akron. Janet has been shown at the Cleveland Museum of Art (The Caporali Missal), in two Fresh Art shows at the Summit Art Space, and had a solo show in Kent at The Stone Tavern.
